Craving a true wilderness experience—without the burden of a heavy backpack and hauling in gear? Our 5-Day Backcountry Camping Tour offers the perfect blend of rugged adventure and backcountry comfort, deep in the heart of the breathtaking Kananaskis wilderness. Your journey begins with a scenic three-hour hike into our remote Mount Romulus base camp. As you follow forested trails through alpine wilderness, your gear is transported by our trusted trail horses and horse-drawn wagon. It's backpacking reimagined, leaving you free to enjoy the trail, the views, and the moment more easily. Once at camp, you’ll settle into a fully equipped base complete with spacious walled tents, cozy cots, and wood stoves in select tents to keep you warm on cool mountain nights. Enjoy delicious, hearty meals crafted by our talented backcountry cooks, and unwind each evening beside the campfire under a canopy of stars. Share stories, laughter, and connection with fellow adventurers or simply soak in the peace and quiet of the backcountry. Over the course of five days and four nights, you’ll explore the surrounding wilderness through optional guided hikes to alpine lakes, panoramic lookout points, and hidden gems few ever get to see. Wildlife sightings of moose, elk, deer, and even bears are not uncommon, and the blooming wildflowers and mountain air add to the magic of each day on trail. This multi-day experience includes: A 3-hour hike leading into the Kananaskis backcountry Horse and wagon support for all gear and camping equipment Comfortable accommodations in walled tents with cots Hearty meals and snacks prepared daily by our on-site cook Campfire evenings with storytelling, stargazing, and camaraderie Optional guided day hikes to scenic trails, lakes, and lookouts or explore on your own.
